The Ipod Nano 3rd Generation Review

ipod nano
Evolution and not revolution is to be considered in the case of the nano video 8GB blue; this winning gadget has conquered the current market and every user is no stranger when it comes to this amazing device. One can also have a glimpse of all the existing changes that are coming along the new device that feels as being a little mouse when compared to the previous gadgets. Every user will start marveling at all the little touches that are required in order to make this device work according to its own instructions; its slideshow is cool and every viewer will allow himself to watch the drifting images. The images can be drifted slowly in order for the viewer to see everything. A substantial redesign was provided in order for the iPod to accommodate the video playback and the new games. Despite all these changes, the IPod nano 3rd generation review states that the iPod remains one of the thinnest and smallest devices. Its MP3 player is designed in an exquisite manner too. It is also one of the most affordable devices that are to be found on the current market.

The redesign of the nano video 8Gb blue has its own amount of criticism; many detractors are likely to call it chubby. The device is also blamed for looking squat and awkward; but all this reservation is not to be taken too seriously because the latest iPod makes the previous one look like a real skyscraper. Its brighter screen is one of its best features because the users have always searched for larger screens that can provide them with a full display of the main menu. The menu system has been changed; one striking change resides in the split-screen menu that allows the user to have a full display of images and information. The iPod can also be used as a support for the video playback; despite its small size, this phone can support different features that are to be found in larger devices that are twice its size. The video games may have their own support thanks to the new features that have been added to the iPod. Handy ways of spending the spare time will be provided to the user but he should not expect his iPod to compete with major play stations.

The IPod nano 3rd generation review shows that the latest iPod may include all the small touches that can be easily missed; the music shuffle function is also included on this list because it has a experienced a subtle evolution. The user will be let to easily engage and disengage from the existent shuffle function; few presses will be needed in order to achieve that and the user will have to use the center button of the iPod. All the shuffle setting alternatives and options are placed in every song’s window thus giving you the possibility to randomize all the songs until you have found the desired one. This may be considered as a true lazy listener’s dream and this dream has become true.

But the audio file format has not been changed; but the copy-protected files are supported regardless of the purchased iPod. The iPod has unique requirements when it comes to the files management but the manual addition is also allowed. You can add or even delete the files you want without having to face the hassles that is usually related to the play list syncing. Some additional features are planned for the models to come. The future iPod will include some unique abilities such as the one that regards the use of the headphone jack. The headphone jack will be used as a video output with composite features. Videos and photos will be played right to the user’s television set without the need of having the third-party interface. Eventually, the little used features will be removed in order to reduce the construction costs.

The sound quality when it comes to the nano video 8Gb blue is questionable; it still sounds as if the iPod is in the middle of the road. The sound quality is quite middling but this does not seem the affect the number of sales. On the contrary, the latest iPod remains one of the best selling products. Every user will notice that the video performance of this device has actually stolen the entire show; but he is likely to prefer watching the full-length movie on larger screens. Still, the video experience that is provided by the iPod must be enjoyed. All the existent features may convince you to upgrade your present iPod; the latest model is likely to satisfy all your needs when it comes to the video possibilities that have been designed in order to make all the small touches available to you.

A Trip Down Memory Lane - Sony Walkman to Apple Ipod

There may be some of you reading this, that can remember something called a Sony Walkman. Now if you are not old enough, just ask your parents or even an older brother or sister. What you will see is this kind of smile come over their faces. Boy, does time fly and technology goes even faster.

You see, if you lived back in the 1980’s, the Sony Walkman was the coolest thing on the planet. Now if you did live back then, you probably owned one of these. This product was the rave. This product was everywhere, in the airports, the malls, on buses, everywhere. You would see the kids in the back seat of the family car, listening to their own thing, using the Sony Walkman. Their parents would be listening to something else (Dean Martin or Perry Como), which the kids hated.

A phenomenon is a term that implies that something is here today and then gone tomorrow. The Walkman was beyond a phenomenon, it was a mainstay. It was a staple of the society in which it was introduced. If there was a time capsule created to represent the 1980’s, the Walkman would have to be included. If you were to not include it, would be the same thing as discussing technology of the 21st century and leaving out the part about the internet.

Now for the next generation of personal entertainment devices, from the Walkman to the iPod. I am not sure how you could avoid not knowing about the Apple iPod, unless you happen to be living in that time capsule we talked about earlier. So, you have seen them, they are everywhere (sound familiar?). If you ask 10 people to explain what an iPod is, you’ll likely receive 10 different answers; and all of them will likely contain some element of fact and logic. Introduced by Apple Computers in 2001, the iPod is technically defined as a portable music player; and even this doesn’t do it justice. Today it is so much more.

Now the Walkman was really for the kids, that is who mainly used it. Not today and the iPod. It is not just for kids anymore. You see more than just kids walking around with these little white wires sticking out of there ears.

The Apple iPod is a truly amazing product. It has crossed the demographic consumer lines. You see people of all ages wearing these things: from the teachers, the kids (big and small) to the senior citizens, the athletes who manage to keep the ear buds in place despite doing whatever there sport happens to be.

Now, don’t panic if you haven’t entered the iPod country yourself. There are so many to chose from: the iPod classic, iPod shuffle, iPod nano, the iPod mini and so much more. And lets not forget about all the iPod accessories that go along with this. Though the iPod are so incredibly popular, there are still enough people out there who haven’t tried one yet. And there are still people out there who have the iPod and haven’t even taken it out of first gear yet. Why is this?

The reason is because technology can seem confusing and despite its small size, figuring out the in’s and the outs of the iPod can seem intimidating and time consuming. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. The iPod is built around the reputation of Apple which is base things on simplicity and ease of use. Just like the Mac computer. The iPod is as easy to use as a DVD player, or maybe even easier.

In closing here are some facts about the Apple iPod that you may not be aware of. I am sure you know this that the iPod is the #1 selling digital music device. What does it take to be the #1 selling device in this competitive marketplace? Here are some facts. Since 2001 there have been 110 million devices sold world wide. That is:

18 million devices/year

1.527 million/month

50,228/day

2093/hr

35/min

Now if that does not make you go WOW, to the Apple iPod popularity, I am not sure what would. It’s no wonder, given these awesome sales total, that the question most people ask these days isn’t: are you getting an iPod, but rather: where is your iPod?

ipod nano
Apple has an uncanny ability to keep on making great products. Every time you think it’s impossible to make improvements to their iPod music players, along comes another revamp that raises the bar yet again. And with the design and desirability of the latest batch, it has excelled itself once again, especially with the new nano. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past week or so, you’ll know roughly what it looks like. In order to accommodate the bigger screen, it’s both shorter and wider than the previous nano - 52 x 70 x 6.5mm (WxHxD) to be precise.

The newly revamped iPod nano is surprisingly different from its 1st rev ancestor in that it is much more scratch resistant. The anodized (which means ‘coated with a protective oxide layer’) aluminum body is tough - much like the iPod mini - and does not show hairline scratches like the plastic/resin and mirror-like metal of the original nano. Of course, any metal can be scratched if enough force is applied or if the scratching object is sharp enough, but in terms of “normal use”, the new nano is far, far tougher than its predecessor. It also looks like the screen on the new nano is made of a different, more durable material. Well done, Apple!

Apple has also overhauled the Nano’s user interface. The most notable improvement is the addition of the split-screen menu feature, which lists menu items on the left, along with a visual preview of the menu selection on the right half of the display. (If you select “Music” from the top-level menu, for example, floating, rotating album covers from your music collection appear to the right of the menu list.) It’s a nice touch that makes good use of the white space to the right of the menu text and takes advantage of the Nano’s wide display. Apple also added Cover Flow—the ability to “flip through” your library by album cover. While browsing with Cover Flow is a bit slow, it’s a nice option to have, even though the feature is more fun to use on a device with a touch interface, such as the iPhone or the iPod Touch.

On the UI front, Apple added a plethora of new functions that look amazing, thanks to the wonderfully bright display. One such feature is the added video capability. It can play H.264 or MPEG4 in either MOV, MP4 or M4V formats. Although we didn’t expect it to blow us away with its quality, we were surprised yet again. The video quality is amazing, and if the only video device you own is the iPod Nano, you could possibly survive with full scale movie watching on a 2-inch display. But hey, don’t get too excited and think about replacing your dedicated portable video players or notebook computers in lieu of the Nano. It’s excellent, but it’s not a replacement for a dedicated video device. If for nothing else, then think about your eyes and the migraines you will get after hours of squinting on a tiny display. Also, the device is smart enough to skip the unnecessary DVD chapters and start right off with the video, and it also remembers to start the movie at the point you stopped it the last time. How nice is that!

ipod nano
Virtually everyone has at some point seen the ads for the compact iPod nanos or knows a friend or a family member who has one of these electronic devices. The iPod Nanos were accepted very well by electronic consumers, not because they were devices that were anticipated to be rejected, but a music device that was a surprise for people who were looking into these types of players.

The iPod Nanos were meant to replace the IPod Mini as the mid-level iPod product, with additional space and features compared to the IPod Shuffle and less than the traditional iPod. The introduction of the iPod Nanos surprised the press, due to the fact that even though they were anticipating an iPod that utilized flash memory for storage purposes, no one thought that Apple would so thoroughly have the iPod Nanos replace the IPod Minis.

Even though the iPod minis were still doing well, there was no apparent reason to discontinue a successful product even with the introduction of a newer one. Regardless, the aggressive move ended up being the right one, due to the fact that people have accepted it and has even been cited for durability and quality, in spite of initial issues of the iPod Nano with scratching of the screens.

Modifications of the IPod Nanos

In the beginning, it was challenging to locate some accessories for iPod Nanos due to the fact that in order to compensate for the reduced size of the items, Apple had to get rid of the remote connector located towards the top part of models such as the IPod Minis, which the majority of accessories during that time period used.

With today’s accessories, items such as remotes and FM transmitters are being manufactured that hook up with the devices through a docking port. The iPod Nanos inner functionality is different from its predecessors, as well. The most significant change inside of it was the move from a small hard drive to using flash memory for the storage of songs.

The iPod Nano was shrunk down by its designers to be about the size of a slightly more slender and a little bit longer than a credit card. This can be achieved now because flash memory is roughly about the thickness and size of a postage stamp.

Regardless of the reduced size in comparison to the IPod Mini, Apple also was able to provide a color screen that gives higher resolution because of the switch to the iPod Nano. It is because of these basic changes in overall design that made iPod Nanos more capable to allow Apple to remove its predecessor, the iPod mini, from the market.

ipod nano
You have located a very durable, light weight aluminum Apple iPod that can give you up to 2000 songs and more photos and It will easily fit in your pocket being only less than 4″ long and 1 1/2″ wide and only 1/3″ thick. There is a 11/2″ diagonal LCD screen which is much brighter than the earlier models and will play much longer with the stronger battery which is rechargeble in about 90 minetes, which will give you plenty of backlight and play for as many hours as you want. The whole world will be your theater and you won’t have to take up any more space than what you could get in your pocket.

You will also be amazed as to how brilliant the colored albums will be and how easy it is to access your contacts and calendar with the Click Wheel. While connected to the computer with the USB cable, it is ready to charge or Auto-Sync, or can be hooked to sterio speakers and is compatible with MAC or PC, and supports Outlook and Express and Address Book , and features include storage, photo viewer with 1.5″ LCD with blue-white LED backlights with connectors for the computer being an interface USB 2.0, an audio input Dock connector with a 3.5mm output headphone jack which is powered by a lithium ion battery.

The window system requirements are Windows 2000 or better with service pack 4 or later iTunes 7 or later and all of the firmware are upgradeable, with a shipping weight of only 3 lbs. This very modestly priced iPod will give you years of play without fear of fatigue while playing the songs that are loaded and ones that you will be able to download from the computor or other systems. The apple ipod has been out only a short time and if you hav’nt tried one you don’t know know what you are missing.

iPod Nano Ships in Sleeves

Sunday
May 31,2009
ipod nano
Following growing complaints and lawsuits over the scratch-prone iPod Nano, Apple has begun to ship its little beast of an mp3 player in protective covers to help prevent scratches on its mp3 device while in shipment, where the company says much of the scratching occurs.

According to posts made Thursday and Friday on several iPod fan sites, the iPod Nano now includes a white fabric and plastic slipcover that resembles the one shipping with the new iPod video. Two Apple customer service representatives confirmed that the iPod Nano now ships with a cover. “I’d call it more of a dustcover than a case,” said one. “It’s very much like what’s included with the video iPod,” said another.

This action is the first of what is expected to be growing responses to the heavy criticisms and large lawsuits in action against Apple over its iPod Nano. Although the corporate office has yet to comment officially on the topic, it is needless to say that the company is indeed taking the complaints seriously.
