The new Apple iPod nano V3 is a mid-range iPod portable media player introduced by Apple Inc. on September 7, 2005. It comes with combined features of both the iPod shuffle and iPod classic. Came out mainly with an intention of replacing the iPod mini, the Apple iPod nano V3 has attractive features and characteristics that are really stunning and mind-blowing. It took around nine months for Apple to complete the design of the iPod nano. The Apple iPod nano V3 comes with flash memory but has a miniaturized version of the color screen and click wheel that existed on the iPod classic. The battery and other internal parts are also much smaller than mini.

The Apple iPod nano V3 works with iTunes on Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows. It is capable of connecting through the same proprietary dorck connector as the third-generation iPod, the fourth-generation iPod, and the iPod mini, with the help of a USB 2.0 port on the user’s computer. Although it uses the same connection as Apple’s FireWire iPod Cable and it can also charge its battery over FireWire, the iPod nano does not support synchronizing over a FireWire connection. The Apple iPod nano V3 has attractive features including a stop watch and a multiple time zone clock function. It also has a combination lock feature that makes use of the click wheel for locking the iPod, and serving to secure the user’s calendar and contact information. This is also the first iPod that includes a new lyrics screen, modifiable using iTunes.

The Apple iPod nano V3 does not synchronize or connect over FireWire. It comes with a size of 1.6 in (40 mm) wide, 3.5 in (90 mm) long, 0.27 in (6.9 mm) thick and weighing1.5 ounces (42 grams) making it too small and comfortable to hold in hand. This model has a battery life is up to 14 hours.

ipod nano
Apple has forever kept on increasing the quality and features of its products. It has this seamless ability to beat all its previous records and come up with a yet another improvement in its already best ipods. It is its own competitor. With this attitude it has excelled itself once again, especially with the new nano.

It is a lot more curvaceous than the previous nano. This model looks much more like a miniature version of the iPod Classic. Its corners are rounded, and its edges fade to a sharp edge. It has an anodized aluminum top and polished stainless steel back plate. It is available in five eye-catching colors. It has a larger, brighter display with the highest pixels per inch of any Apple display, ever. iPod nano delivers excellent visual features. Besides it can Play up to 5 hours of video or up to 24 hours of audio on a single charge. Its wonderful battery life and the 6.5 mm wafer thin profile accelerates Apple’s iPod fan base. In order to accommodate it’s bigger screen, it’s both shorter and wider than the previous nano - 52 x 70 x 6.5mm (WxHxD) to be precise.

In this model, it plays video and that too on a bigger, brighter screen than before. Apple claims that the new screen is 65 per cent brighter than the previous generation’s screen. And this is is absolutely true. It looks very attractive. The photos here look vibrant and videos are crisp, sharp and detailed.

You can use the click Wheel to adjust volume, navigate songs, and browse in Cover Flow or you can explore the Music menu by playlist, artist, album, song, genre, composer, and more. To enjoy variety you can click Shuffle Songs. iPod nano makes your music look as good as it sounds, with the help of its bright color display.

You can take movies from different sources and you can sync them to your iPod nano to watch anywhere, anytime. You can watch up to 5 hours of video on this ipod. With the playback facility you can watch two movies back to back. And for your viewing pleasure, the 320-by-240-pixel display with a whopping 204 pixels per inch offers 65 percent brighter video than before. With Cover Flow on iPod nano, you can scroll through your music to find the album you want to hear. You can use the Click Wheel to browse music by album cover, and then you may select an album to flip it over and see the track list. iPod nano has the capacity to hold up to 7,000 photos. You can sync them from your Mac or PC via iTunes.

The extra features in it includes calendars, contacts, world clock, stop watch and a screen lock that appears in the Extras menu, along with a few more handy items.

The Apple iPod Nano Third Generation 8 GB overall is very useful. It is precious as it supports video playback, can output to TV, supports Cover Flow. Besides it is very compact and has a sleek design, bright screen, enhanced user interface and games. The device is talented enough to skip the unnecessary DVD chapters and start right off with the video, in addition it also remembers to start the movie at the point you stopped it the last time.

Its near-doubling of battery life is even more impressive when considering the 65% increase in screen brightness. However battery life tends to be shorter if you frequently skip songs or if you use the backlight for extended periods. This is the smallest-screened media player, adding very good video- and game-playing capabilities to the previously music- and photo-only, popular iPod nano.

It has a built in microphone, with excellent interface. Photos look vibrant and videos are crisp, punchy and detailed. The additional information provided by these new menus makes finding content easier, although if you have a large music library, the two-line-per-track songs list takes longer to scroll through.

In this model the Apple iPod Nano Third Generation 8 GB’s long, thin stick design has been replaced by a wider, stouter design that accommodates both the generous screen and Apple’s signature scroll wheel. And even though this is the smallest video-playing screen, after watching a 90-minute movie on the nano it is a pleasant surprise.

How long you’ll want to spend watching a screen this small is although a bit debatable Besides it is worth noting that widescreen footage on the 4:3 screen is eye-squintingly difficult to watch, however the nano makes up for this with its ability to play back footage at up to 30fps, which is easily enough for smooth, viewing.

ipod nano
With so many handheld devices on the market these days, the Apple iPod Nano is clearly an excellent choice. But what makes this particular unit such an obvious way to go? Here are some of the advantages that this iPod brings to the table.

For people who like to take a lot of music with them, the iPod Nano is the ideal choice. Depending on the process of file storage, you can have anywhere between five hundred and a thousand music tracks loaded at any given time. Unlike some lesser models where you would have to settle for a much smaller selection, you can easily have music from a variety of genres at your fingertips, enough to get you through the longest airline trip, or through any number of situations where you need some pleasant distraction. Organizing the tunes is simple as well, so you can always find whatever is the ideal music for your current mood.

Accessing the tunes is also easier than ever with the Nano version of the Apple iPod. The click wheel has the familiar look that you have come to rely upon. What has changed is that it is much more responsive than some of the earlier models. This means you can perform all the functions at lightning speed, from searching the menu, forward and rewinding through the songs and even pausing when you need to step away from the Nano for a moment. The display area is also a nice size in comparison to the overall unit. You have a viewing space of about 1.5 inches for display, which easily allows you visual contact with the menus.

Improved battery life is another perk of the new and improved Nano Apple iPod. While older versions would provide you with up to twelve hours of listening pleasure, the Nano will keep going for up to fourteen hours in between charges. That pretty well makes for the vast majority of a whole day’s playing time. You will also find that recharging the Apple Nano overnight is quick and easy. Simply plug in the charger and you will be good to go when the new day begins.

With all the improvements that come with the iPod Nano, it just makes sense to head out to the store and make this unit your own. Check with find electronics stores as well as major discount retailers. Then have fun loading all your favorite tracks on your new handheld Apple iPod Nano.

An Introduction to Ipod Mini

Friday
Apr 17,2009
ipod nano
Ipod Mini was first released on February 20, 2004 and it delighted many. Being a smaller edition of Apple Computer’s Ipod first generation moveable audio player, it’s variety in colors (comes with limited colors, silver, gold, blue, pink, and green) appealed to the broader market. The Ipod Mini could be operated with both Macintosh and Windows PCs.

The iPod mini’s quality was the click wheel, where four buttons were placed above the wheel. To use one of the buttons, a user had to drive the wheel edge inner over one of the labels. The click wheel system is now normally used in the fourth and fifth generation iPods and it is as well been used in the iPod nano. Above the wheel was the monochrome display, which offers the menus or information of the presently selected track. The new generation of ipods normally has a colored screen display.

The battery life of its first generation iPod mini was 8 hours, which led to some quarrel on its small duration. This problem was later solved with the second -generation models that had a battery life of 18 hours. Like the larger iPod, the iPod Mini as well supported a crowd of file formats like MP3, WAV, AIFF and other MP4 features. It maintained its perfect integration with the iTunes Music Store and the files being downloaded there. Software wise, the iPod Mini was as consistent as the innovative iPod units.

Besides if there was something high-quality to be said about this amazing iPod mini, it’s the choice it gave the consumers when getting a digital audio player. The Ipod mini struggled directly with most renowned players like Creative’s Zen Micro and the Digital Networks Rio Carbon. The smaller display was actually one line smaller than the last models, thus warning it’s on-screen track information show to title and artist only, taking the album information off.

As the Ipod family started to grow, the Ipod mini was laid to rest when Apple launched the opening of the iPod nano. The iPod mini did not then exist in the market and stopped its production. Though it looks the iPod Mini only stayed for a while, its sway as the initiate of the click wheel would always be remembered.

Ipod - the Music Player for All

iPods seem to be taking over the world. One sees them everywhere one goes, being used by adults and children alike. One sees them on the television and in the movies. It seems that people are going insane over them! It is actually not surprising that this little device is attracting such fanatical devotion; it is indeed a fantastic device; it might even be the coolest thing to show up ever!

The iPod is a pocket sized, ultra light hard drive based audio player, designed and marketed by Apple Computers. All the iPod models are user friendly in design, and can be used even by young children. They offer a simple user interface and a scroll wheel to browse the navigation system. Unlike the other portable cassette or CD players, the iPod stores media on in-built memory. What this means is that you do not need to insert a CD or cassette.

An iPod is practical, functional, and cute as well! There are three different sizes and shapes to choose from. There is the skinny little iPod shuffle; the slightly larger but even skinner nano, and the most popular regular iPod that can play all your favorite TV shows and favorite songs.

Some of the other Mp3 players available might have disadvantages if compared to the wonder of the iPod. It is not only a question of how many songs they can hold; the overall quality and the cute look of the little machines are truly matchless. They can hold thousands of songs and pictures, they are so tiny, and they come in such wonderful colors. The iPod mini came in green and pink and blue and other lovely colors. The nano and the iPod now come in white and black. All the colors are hot and look great.

What it has come down to is that when you want to go in for a new music player, you may consider to get an iPod. It will hold hundreds of songs; the battery life is great. You can play it for more than twenty hours before you need to charge it again.

When you buy the iPod, the iTunes software is included in it. This software uploads music and photos in the iPod and it has been likened to a jukebox. The function of this software is to play, store and organize all the music and video files on the iPod. With iTunes, you can connect to the iTunes Music Store and buy music files for playing on the iPod. Although iTunes has been developed by Apple, it will work with Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 operating systems. ITunes is also freely downloadable on the web.

Apple Corporation released the iPod in October, 2001. Since then, the iPod has become the biggest selling portable hard disk player. It has sold around twenty million units in 2001-2005. The way the iPod was initially marketed also contributed to its enormous popularity, with excellent ads playing the coolest tunes in the background.

The tiny size of the iPod is its biggest advantage, and you can take it with you wherever you go. This can have its problems, as the iPod is delicate, and the screen and case are prone to scratching, even during normal use. So now a huge market has opened up, offering cases for your iPod to protect it from damage so that you can take it literally anywhere. The cases have options for clips and straps, so your iPod need never leave your side, until you want to put it away yourself.

Tips to Care Your Ipod Batteries

iPod Battery Tips

One of the common worries for you as an iPod user is that the battery does not last well and are expensive to replace.

I guess, with thousands of iPods being sold everyday, there will bound to be a small percentage that ends up with defective batteries.

But paying attention to a few common sense pointers will pay off with a longer battery life for your iPod.

Still, battery problems are a major concern so I have compiled these short iPod battery tips that will hopefully, be of some help to you as an iPod user.

Update to the latest software

Always make sure your iPod has the latest software. This is the first and most important tip… of all iPod battery tips.

Regular iPod use

For proper maintenance of your iPod’s battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. In other words, use your iPod regularly.

Use the ‘Hold’ switch

Set the ‘Hold’ switch on your iPod to the ‘Hold’ position whenever you are not using it. This will keep your iPod from accidentally waking from sleep and playing songs if its buttons are pressed while in your pocket or bag.

Wi-Fi

The latest iPod with Wi-Fi consumes power even if you are not using it to connect to a network to access the internet. Turn your Wi-Fi off to save battery power. To do this from your iPod’s main menu… go to ‘Settings > General > Network > Wi-Fi’.

Backlighting

Backlighting can use a lot of battery power. Only use the backlight when necessary. If you don’t need to use backlighting, turn it off. Choose ‘Settings > Backlight Timer > Off’ from your iPod’s main menu.

Equalizer

Adding EQs to playback uses more of your iPod processor, since they aren’t encoded in the song. Turn EQ off if you don’t use it.

If, however, you’ve added EQ to tracks in iTunes, you’ll need to set EQ to “flat” in order to have the effect of “off”, because your iPod keeps your iTunes settings intact. To turn off the Equalizer, choose ‘Settings > EQ > Off’ from your iPod’s main menu.

Use compressed songs

Your iPod’s cache works best with songs of average file sizes (less than 9 MB). If your audio files are large or uncompressed (including AIFF format), you may want to compress them, or use a different compression method, such as MP3 or AAC, when importing them into iTunes.

Also, consider breaking very long songs or tracks into shorter tracks that have smaller file sizes.

Avoid Fast forwarding through playlists

If you fast forward through your playlists frequently your iPod will be using more power thus decreasing overall battery life. By creating playlists in iTunes, you can decrease your need to fast forward.

Also using the shuffle feature may also help minimise your need to use the fast forward feature. I’ve always used an iPod battery backup when my iPod video couldn’t hold its charge and it has been very helpful.

Avoid changing tracks

Avoid changing tracks by pressing the Previous/Rewind or Next/Fast-forward buttons. If you frequently change tracks by pressing the Previous or Next buttons, your iPod has to turn on the hard drive to open the songs. This uses a lot of battery power.

Pause iPod when unattended

If you leave your iPod unattended, press Play/Pause to pause the song. If left playing, it will continue to play songs until the battery is drained — particularly if the repeat setting is set to ‘One’ or ‘All’. Put your iPod to sleep to save battery life. Press the ‘Play’ button for about 2 seconds until it goes to the sleep mode.

Keep your iPod at room temperature

Your iPod’s battery works best when it’s at room temperature, generally near 20° C, but you can use it anywhere between 0° to 35° C (about 32° to 95° F).

If you have left your iPod in the cold, let it warm up to room temperature before waking it from sleep. Otherwise, a low-battery icon may appear and it will be difficult to get it back from sleep.

If after warming up, your iPod does not wake from sleep, connect it to the power adapter, and press the ‘Menu’ and ‘Select’ buttons until the Apple logo appears.

* Do not leave iPod in a vehicle’s interior when parked in the sun. Temperatures may reach up to 150° F (65 °C).

* Do not leave iPod exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods of time.

By following all these iPod battery tips you’ll safeguard your iPod against a failing battery.
