Available in super slim models and cool colors, iPod nano comes with amazing storage capacity and battery life. Amazing capacity

Apple iPod nano was initially launched with a capacity of 2 GB and 4 GB. The 2 GB version holds about 500 songs and the 4 GB version can hold upto 1000 songs. Later, Apple also introduced low-price 1 GB model, which had the capacity to hold upto 240 songs. On popular demand, Apple launched the 8GB iPod nano at the price of its 4 GB model. The 8 GB model could hold a whopping 2000 songs and thousands of photos!

The USP of iPod nano is its ultra slim look. It is so small and thin that it can easily fit in your pocket along with other paraphernalia. iPod nano is about 3.5 inches long, 1.5 inches wide and about 6.9 mm thick. The second generation iPod nano has become even slimmer. Its thickness has been reduced to 6.5 mm. Ipod Mini was first released on February 20, 2004 and it delighted many. Being a smaller edition of Apple Computer’s Ipod first generation moveable audio player, it’s variety in colors (comes with limited colors, silver, gold, blue, pink, and green) appealed to the broader market. The Ipod Mini could be operated with both Macintosh and Windows PCs.

The iPod mini’s quality was the click wheel, where four buttons were placed above the wheel. To use one of the buttons, a user had to drive the wheel edge inner over one of the labels. The click wheel system is now normally used in the fourth and fifth generation iPods and it is as well been used in the iPod nano. Above the wheel was the monochrome display, which offers the menus or information of the presently selected track. The new generation of ipods normally has a colored screen display.

The battery life of its first generation iPod mini was 8 hours, which led to some quarrel on its small duration. This problem was later solved with the second -generation models that had a battery life of 18 hours. Like the larger iPod, the iPod Mini as well supported a crowd of file formats like MP3, WAV, AIFF and other MP4 features. It maintained its perfect integration with the iTunes Music Store and the files being downloaded there. Software wise, the iPod Mini was as consistent as the innovative iPod units.

Besides if there was something high-quality to be said about this amazing iPod mini, it’s the choice it gave the consumers when getting a digital audio player. The Ipod mini struggled directly with most renowned players like Creative’s Zen Micro and the Digital Networks Rio Carbon. The smaller display was actually one line smaller than the last models, thus warning it’s on-screen track information show to title and artist only, taking the album information off.

As the Ipod family started to grow, the Ipod mini was laid to rest when Apple launched the opening of the iPod nano. The iPod mini did not then exist in the market and stopped its production. Though it looks the iPod Mini only stayed for a while, its sway as the initiate of the click wheel would always be remembered.

Okay. My ipod broke the other day. :[ and im going to buy an Ipod touch (the second generation). I was looking for cases and it says “compatible with the 1st generation of Ipod Touch”. I was wondering what the difference is between the two to see if that case would work on the ipod im getting. Any answers?

Nano IPod combines both the features of IPod shuffle and IPod- replacing IPod mini- and is the fourth digital audio player introduced by Apple Inc. Though IPod mini was in use, the introduction of Nano IPod was a surprise.

The main features of Nano IPod are that it has more flash memory storage than the shuffle and has a miniaturized version of the color screen and click wheel that are found in the full sized IPods. The name itself-Nano-suggests that the size of the IPod has to be small. The screen has a high declaration and allows one more line of text than the IPod mini’s screen.

The size of the battery and other few parts has been reduced in size, thus reducing the overall size of the IPod. The surface of the click wheel is textured. The main button of the second generation Nano IPod is concave. The Nano IPod operator with iTunes on Microsoft Windows and connects through the wharf connector as any other third generation IPod.

Also, the Nano IPod has a stop watch and a numerous time zone clock function. A special feature called the mixer lock feature enables the use of click wheel to lock the IPod and serve up, to secure the user’s calendar and other contact information. Nano IPod is the first IPod to possess a new lyrics screen which is modifiable using iTunes. It is also possible to organize music on the Nano IPod, browsing by artist or song and can also shuffle the songs according to the moods of the listener.

Since the flash memory is of the thickness and size of a postage stamp, the Nano IPod is a slender and longer credit card. There is an easy navigation on the Nano IPod for pod casts and hence, Nano is very informative and a communicative instrument that features ABC news and many more. It is possible to load as many as twenty five thousand photos using iTunes from windows and Mac formats. It is also feasible to view the photo slides along with the music. There is a water proof case, specially designed by Otter products so that Nano IPod can be used at the beach and on a vacation that involves swimming and other water activities. There are water proof head phones too, but the offer is limited only for a specific period.

Second generation Nano IPod is less prone to scratching and is durable. The sound quality of Nano IPod is extremely good and is available in colors like white, black, silver, blue and green. The Nano IPod is the most popular and recent models of IPod and the features and benefits of Nano are many. The popularity is still growing because more and more people find it convenient to walk with a Nano IPod and take music in their pockets, wherever they go.
